. . . she retired and fell back into her late-night practice of writing, painting, and stargazing. It’s wonderful to be a nyctophile again.
A little late with the Thanksgiving post but here goes:
I’m thankful to be retired . . . again.
I’m thankful for the support, amazing programs, and camaraderie with a great group of fellow authors at Grand Canyon Sisters in Crime chapter.
I’m thankful I was able to spend a week with family at a VRBO house in Phoenix that absolutely rocked! Had so much fun target shooting, shopping, eating, drinking, playing games, eating, picking fresh fruit from the homeowner’s trees (with their approval), swimming and lounging in the hot tub, eating, hiking, playing foosball, shuffleboard, billiards, and did I mention eating?
I’m thankful for the extra five pounds I gained. NOT! Well, maybe . . . because it was very good food.
I’m thankful for my husband, two rescue dogs, and living in southern Arizona where the sun shines almost every day, the trails beckon, and most people are pretty darn nice. Yeah, it gets hot in the summer. So I’m also thankful I can occasionally escape to cooler climes during the brutal season.
I’m thankful for our solar panels that keep the electric bill around $25 every month, all year.
I’m thankful for dark skies, diamond bright stars, and good wine.
What are YOU thankful for?
I’m retired . . . again.
Looking forward to resuming my DEAD MEN cozy series along with a couple of suspense thrillers. I’ve been chomping at the bit to start writing but after two years of working and traveling to disasters, I needed a little time to catch up with some “housework”, clear my head, snuggle with the hubs, and enjoy our two new rescue dogs. I haven’t hit the hiking trails yet but it’s coming. Photos are guaranteed!
Other news – I will be the new Fiction Tips columnist for PENWHEELS, a newsletter for Escapees members interested in writing/publishing. It’s chock full of good information from some very talented authors so I’m honored to join the ranks. My gig begins with the Spring issue. I’ll keep you posted!
Hope you like the new look of my website. I’ve discontinued blogging and will instead offer a quarterly newsletter with updates on new releases, book signings, contests, etc. so be sure to sign up for my mailing list on the homepage. I will not sell or provide your information to third parties. This is just a way for me to connect with readers and fans.
I’ll still post here from time to time, mostly personal activities like crafts, hiking and travel photos . . . and memes! I love memes and quotes.
That’s all for now. So very happy to be back!
